|
|
I have Linux Gentoo with nvidia-drivers 270.41.06.
In browser opera 11.50.1074 Adobe flash player shows a dark square only. But in Firefox it is working fine. I need help.

Not an expert, but off the top of my head:
What system are you running on? 64-bit / 32-bit?
What version of firefox are you using?
Does opera detect the flash plugin? |

Are you using the 64bit flash version? It's not working for me with Opera, either. Here's the message I get with "opera -debugplugin":
Code: |
Opera Plugin Proxy: Could not start up plugin
|

And for more detailed output:
Code: | OPERA_PLUGINWRAPPER_DEBUG=5 opera |
Higher number for higher flood. ^^
As a side-note, I always thought this also requires the -debugplugin switch but it does show the info regardless (it would seem to me). _________________ Kindest of regardses. |

3.6.17.

Yes, it does.

It wrote the following:
Code: | OperaPluginWrapper(Shockwave Flash): Segmentation fault
OperaPluginWrapper(Shockwave Flash): Attempt to print the stack from the signal handler |
and some flood.
Also was next:
Code: | messtrans: error in timeoutRead(fd=36, timeout=30): No such process
Opera Plugin Proxy: quitPlugin()
Opera Plugin Proxy: pluginWrapper::releaseMemory |

Yeah, I get a segfault with the same message as well, so it's not 64 or 32bit specific. |

Okay, I would suggest trying either
Code: | =nvidia-drivers-275.09.07 |
or
Code: | =nvidia-drivers-260.19.44 |
for I had Opera go segfault for whatever reason with 270.41.06 version, but not with 275.09.07. I never investigated it further, though, to find out exactly why. But yeah, that's something I'd suggest trying out for now.
Oh and while 275.09.07 is still not marked as stable, I have been using them for quite a while without issues, or rather I have not noticed any... yet? _________________ Kindest of regardses. |

Update the nVidia driver to version 275 helped me. Thank you. |

I'm using 275.09.07, so that's not the issue for me. I might try the 280x beta drivers again (but the glibc bug is back again for that release) |
