hello all,
Please excuse my noobosity.
I have a logitech usb mouse which doens't appear to be working. If i run dmesg, I get :
Quote: |
new USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c00e
new USB device strings, Mfr=1, Prodcut=2 Serialnumber=0
Product: Optical PS/2 USB mouse
Manufacturer: Logitech
|
But in links or nano I have no mouse! The light on the mouse is on when it gets plugged in, but now response it appears.
Also..how do you copy/paste from terminal? I want to post more of dmesg but typing it all by hand cant possibly be the right way..
thanks in advance for any replies |

I assume that you are using a console terminal and not a terminal within a desktop environment? If so, have you emerged the console mouse driver?
There is a Gentoo guide here http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gpm.xml |

thank you!
I'm currently emerging Enlightenment so I assume that requires some other driver/package? I should be able to look it up now that I know it isn't something missing in the kernel config or anything |
