I installed gentoo today, and I found boot errors:
Code:
[   6.246082] CE: hpet increased min_delta_ns to 20113 nsec
[  90.897008] CE: hpet2 increased min_delta_ns to 7500 nsec
[  90.897246] CE: hpet2 increased min_delta_ns to 11250 nsec
[  90.897465] hrtimer: interrupt took 7430ns
[ 123.195481] CD: hpet3 increased min_delta_ns to 7500 nsec

and so on,WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? I have googled for a whole day!

I think you can disable HPET in your BIOS or else add the following to the kernel command line.

Code:
hpet=disable

Also you could disable it and rebuild your kernel.

Code:
Processor type and feartures --->
[ ] High Resolution Timer support

Problem Solved!!
Just NOT compiling KMS support for ati INTO the kernel and the problem had solved!

yeah, been a long-term issue for me, too :)

with compiled-in KMS + ati radeon in the kernel it wouldn't even succeed to boot up properly

to way for me now is either to let the module load during boot with the modeset enabled or loading it manually after login (manually or via script)

but those "CE: hpet increased min_delta_ns to" messages are caused by something else

I seem to get those while the system is under heavy load (e.g. compiling kde, etc.)

welcome to Gentoo btw :)
