I tried to run the calendar in debug mode, and started evolution from another terminal.
This just told me the factory exits right away.

Rebuilt the owner:

No difference.

Can't downgrade due to dependency of kdepimlibs-4.6.3:

Looks like I may have lost my calender.

I moved ~/.local/share/evolution/calendar/system/calendar.ics
to ~/.local/share/evolution/calendar/system/calendar.ics.bak
and restarted evoltuion.

This created a new calendar.ics.

So How do I recover my calendar?

I edited the bad old calendar.ics by hand.
I removed many BEGIN:VTIMEZONE .... END:VTIMEZONE
and now the calendar loads, but only shows birthdays.
All my meetings are still in there, but don't show in evolution's calender.

Not sure if this is realted, but this bug:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372651
seems to relate.
Trying to upgrade evolution to =mail-client/evolution-2.32.2-r3, though it is still masked.

I was able to import the calendar.ics into a different host running the same version of evolution ( v2.32.2 ), but a subsequent export and import to the problem host does not work. This all seemed to follow a 'emerge --depclean' which never goes smoothly.

The evoltuion user list told me to install the debug info package for evolution-data-server.

What package has a debug use flag that would apply to this?

After that, I'm supposed to run e-calendar-factory in debug mode under gdb
gdb /usr/libexec/e-calendar-factory --ex r --ex "t a a bt" --ex q

The traceback is supposed to show me some useful info.
