As of the last few days, I've started running into the following error, which is preventing me from loading some modules. Ultimately, I'm attempting to load ppp_mppe, but as it loads crypto_algapi and it has an unknown symbol: fips_enabled, it fails to properly load.

I'm fairly novice to the gentoo game, so any guidance is a huge help. In my searching. I checked /proc/sys and there is not a crypto directory. I also checked sysctl -a and fips_enabled is not listed there as well.

Hopefully, this is just an oversight on my part somewhere, but I would certainly appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Here is the error as it stands. Please let me know what else you need from me.
Code:

crypto_algapi: Unknown symbol fips_enabled (err 0)
