Hi All
Just installed a fresh gentoo and I cannot seem to get my /dev/raw1394 come up.
dmesg says: Code: | 0.590498] firewire_ohci 0000:04:07.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 23 (level, low) -> IRQ 23
[ 0.641069] firewire_ohci: Added fw-ohci device 0000:04:07.0, OHCI v1.10, 4 IR + 8 IT contexts, quirks 0x2
[ 1.142093] firewire_core: created device fw0: GUID 00df0b8600001d7d, S400
[ 2.664561] firewire_net: firewire0: IPv4 over FireWire on device 00df0b8600001d7d
[ 2.664569] firewire_core: refreshed device fw0

so it looks like it is recognised. Also I have enabled all the firewire features in the kernel as built in.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance. _________________ answer an unanswered post:

Solved! Using the OHCI Built into the kernel and therefore no need to do a chmod 777 /dev/raw1394 anymore! Simpy issue the command
PS I am using kernel 2.6.38-gentoo-r6 .
Cheers! _________________ answer an unanswered post:
