|

So I installed the base Gentoo installation (1.1a) without any problems. I then started 'emerge gnome'. A minute or so after I started that, I found that my /etc/make.conf was not edited and I killed the 'emerge gnome'.
Now when I emerge *anything* (or even 'emerge --help') I get:
!!! Invalid token (not "=") mitshm
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/emerge", line 6 in ?
import output
[...seven of these...]
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'has_key'
I tried the emerge-rescue and I tried to untar the emerge tarball, but nothing has worked so far.
Update:
1) I copied the original make.conf and make.defaults back and tried it again (no joy).
2) I also tried to ebuild the /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/portage-1.9.2.ebuild, and that gave the same error as I noted in the original.
Any help would be most appreciated! _________________ "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy"
