Compiz not fully operational

I installed compiz-fusion following the http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/dri-howto.xml, http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/ati-faq.xml, http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/xorg-config.xml, and http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Compiz guides. I get effects to work, but windows have no borders and no title bars. I tried enabling everything I could in compiz's gui configuration and nothing worked.

I can get emerald to work sometimes, so maybe some clues are there, but that's not what I want. I remember using compiz-fusion on kde3.5 a few years ago, and everything basically looked like kde's default plus effects and cube. That's the type of thing I'm trying to setup here, kwin look but compiz effects.

I think I got my drivers set up fine, as my Xorg appears to have less errors than when I started, but here is the log anyway

Thank you so much, that gave me kde4's window borders back! And what's more, I just happened to notice my compiz benchmark listed 30fps which was odd, but after I set indirect rendering it gave me the more expected 60 fps!

Unfortunately I don't think that's the end of my problems. My window borders will disappear if I enable certain compiz features, like Water effect for example. I'm not sure this is related, but when I go to Kinfocenter -> Graphical Information -> OpenGL I see absolutely no trace of indirect rendering. Additionally my compiz glitches out whenever I log out, giving me garbled imaged of things currently or previously on the screen. I did as this guide suggested and reemerged xorg-server with -minimal, and

Those links should be incredibly helpful. I see a bunch of stuff I need to do in them already. Unfortunately now I can't do much of anything with my system. I'll just have to wait until I get it fixed to see if they work.
