Just went back and forth on this issue, and did not see it documented anywhere in these forums, so I thought I'd share:
I was attempting to emerge lirc 0.9.0 with the commandir module (usb IR device) on an amd64 build, and it would fail with a message stating that I needed libusb, which was already installed. I attempted to install lirc from source, and found that the issue was it was not able to find usb.h. I installed libusb from source, but this did not help either. The solution was to emerge libusb-compat (masked with ~arch), which provided the needed usb.h. |

You should file a bug so that it gets fixed _________________ “And even in authoritarian countries, information networks are helping people discover new facts and making governments more accountable.”– Hillary Clinton, Jan. 21, 2010 |
