Hi,
I have been running into a problem. Apparently, Mozilla doesn't think it's necessary to keep sources or binary files of older versions of Firefox any more. As a result, firefox-5.0.tar.bz2 and firefox-4.0.1.tar.bz2 have been removed from their (Mozilla's) servers, which makes the ebuilds useless (it's impossible to download the files, I have checked on Mozilla's servers because I thought I could download manually). Only the source of the newest version is available.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Is this a mistake by Mozilla or are they doing this on purpose? _________________ Prayer can change the world! |

Look into the ebuild which filename it wants, then rename it. |

Well I have ended up copying the firefox-bin-5.0 ebuild and by just renaming it to firefox-bin-5.0.1.ebuild (and of course putting it into my /usr/local/portage/ directory), I've managed to install it.
This does not solve the issue though, that is that the ebuild in the tree can not be installed... And I think the problem lies with Mozilla.
Thanks anyway _________________ Prayer can change the world! |
