I'm attempting to use this code to record a screencast on my gentoo 64bit laptop:

ffmpeg -f jack -f x11grab -r 25 -s 1680x1050 -i :0.0 -vcodec libx264 -vpre lossless_ultrafast -threads 0 desktop.avi

It works on every other box I've got, except this laptop. The colors are all wonky like this:

It's like it's dithered, or bit shifted, etc. I've tried every format and codec combo I can think of, with and without the vpre options, etc. and I'm at a loss.

Anyone seen this before that can clue me in?
