Hey guys

I just read on distrowatch news about this anaconda installer. i did abit of google searching and read abit about it

but theres one question im curious about , this is mostly curiousity

Has anyone made an iso image of gentoo. or the livedvd with this anacando installer preinstalled/setup

Or is there plans to officially add it into the gentoo 11.3 livedvd

Basically how are people taking this tool and using it. or is the gentoo community not interested in it

Usually you get installer via livecd(dvd) or portage.
Mostly it is possible to do 'emerge something' in livecd(dvd) environment :D

ah the confusion, at the moment i have the 64bit 11.2 LiveDVD, and as i read about out of curiousity is that long ago the automated installer option was removed from the livedvd's

Unless im mistaken, but id love to know if that exsists in 11.2 or if the anacando port would be the better option for an installer and if someone's released an iso with anacando predone

Now, i do understand the gentoo way and the CLI installation been the way people like it. and i plan to do a stage CLI install simply to learn. thats why im interested in gentoo, id love to learn more about whats out there

Atm im an archlinux user

But for Virtualbox and a quick understanding of gentoo. i think a gui installer is a great idea. or for quick reinstallation's

dont know what others think, i myself am not really interested in an installer but i can understand that some installer that makes the install procedure more automagically is something some people would like to see. So yes, why shouldnt gentoo have an installer ?

cheers

Well i did try the anaconda option http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitweb/?p=proj/anaconda.git;a=blob;f=docs/install.txt;h=4a4b30342d7555f14483934cbf032b3a92319367;hb=HEAD

listed there

But i kept recieving an I/O No Space left on the device error towards the end

i tried doing a mount solution listed on the forums but that failed still
