And I lauch a vpn connection from my win2k client successfully also.Everythig seems ok now!But when I open Network Neighbour ,I can't see the samba server's netbios name of Gentoo system. So I have to enter vpn's remote address to find it! Is there some method to resolve it ? |

Poptop doesn't allow passthrough of the "network neighborhood" past the VPN server, as of now.
I have installed a vpn server here and sometimes i can see the network, sometimes i do not. It's being worked on I believe, but there hasn't been much activity on poptop for quite a while.
If you know the name of the server you want to connect to, just type
\\servername\nameofshare
in your explorer address bar and it will work

The problem is the netbios broadcasts. If you want to be able to "see" other hosts in the network neighbourhood you either have to set up a wins server or use a vpn with ethernet bridging. |
