|
|
I am trying to install gentoo but I do not get networking on my wired networking card:
Code: | Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM57788 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 01) |
Modprobe does not help:
Code: | modprobe broadcom
modprobe tg3 |
(ifconfig still only lists lo)
I have a somewhat similar problem as this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-875597-start-0.html
But it is a little different and none of the solutions work for me. |

try a different livecd, recommend system rescue cd
no part of the install cd becomes part of the installed system _________________ Defund the FCC. |

Will do.
I should mention I used Sabayon a while back and I had to do a modprobe (can't remember whether it was tg3 or broadcom or both) on startup, it was the same machine. |
