as I'm thinking of reinstalling my system due to strange behavior that maybe related to my raid (switched mb and connections), I was looking on the status of grub 1.99 in /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask and I saw the following:

am I right in understanding that the only reason is it HM is due to doc reasons?

So scarabeus says. He has started a grub-2-guide.xml grub2 guide too.
If you follow it, please post a bug with any changes/updates you discover are required.
