nforce2 firewire support dropped?

I've been trying to find information on support for the nforce2 chipset since the old firewire stack was dropped. However, all I have been able to find are old messages regarding the 2.4 kernel and a debian bug report for linux-image-2.6.22-1-k7. I found several references to dead sites; http://wiki.linux1394.org/, http://ieee1394.wiki.kernel.org/, and http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8828.

Does anyone know the status for support of the nforce2 chipset, and/or a place I can find information?
