I've installed ALSA on my comp. My soundcard is envy24-based. ALSA itself works fine (I can play sounds with 'aplay'), but esound gives me the following error messages everytime:

Sound device inadequate for Esound. Fatal. |
What gives?
If that helps anyone, XMMS with the ALSA output plugin doesn't give any sound, nor does gXine.
So far, I can only get sounds with 'aplay'.
