Hi.

The only similar report I found was [SOLVED] subversion can not find blackdown-jdk.

But here I'm using Gentoo-Prefix and icedtea-bin:

Code:
$ emerge --oneshot -atv subversion
...
[ebuild     U  ] dev-vcs/subversion-1.7.1 [1.7.0] USE="bash-completion berkdb java nls perl vim-syntax webdav-neon -apache2 -ctypes-python -debug -doc -dso -extras -gnome-keyring -kde -python -ruby -sasl -webdav-serf" 0 kB
...
!!! ERROR: The java executable was not found in the Java path
!!! ERROR: The javac executable was not found in the Java path
 * Using: icedtea6-bin
...
configure: error: Cannot compile JavaHL without a suitable JDK.
                  Please specify a suitable JDK using the --with-jdk option.
Code:
$ emerge --info
