|
|
There is apparently an ability for vlc to transcode/convert videos, which is supposed to be a menu choice from the Media dropdown menu, and is also accessed via Ctrl-R. However I don't have the menu choice on the media-video/vlc-1.1.12 I currently have installed. Here are the current vlc USE flags I've enabled
Code: | media-video/vlc-1.1.12 USE="X a52 aac alsa cdda cddb dbus dirac dts dvb dvd ffmpeg flac gcrypt gnome gnutls id3tag ieee1394 libnotify libv4l libv4l2 matroska mmx mp3 mpeg musepack ncurses nsplugin ogg opengl png projectm qt4 samba schroedinger sdl skins speex sse svg theora truetype udev upnp v4l vorbis x264 xcb xml xv -aalib (-altivec) -atmo -avahi -bidi -dc1394 -debug -directfb -fbcon -fluidsynth -fontconfig -ggi -gme -httpd -jack -kate -kde -libass -libcaca -libproxy -libtiger -lirc -live -lua -modplug -mtp -optimisememory -oss -pulseaudio -pvr -remoteosd -rtsp -run-as-root -sdl-image -shine -shout -sqlite -stream (-svga) -taglib -twolame -vaapi -vcdx -vlm (-win32codecs) -wma-fixed -xosd -zvbi" |
If anyone knows whether this is enabled via a USE flag, preferences configuration, or other configuration, and can share this information in this thread, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks..

I have the functionality you mentioned. I guess "encode" useflag is responsible for it. It is available for vlc-1.2.0_pre1 in portage. Probably you need to upgrade vlc to version 1.2.x or higher live (9999) one. _________________ Anyway it's all the same at the end...
Need help to get it working: "x-fi surround 5.1" |

Emerging media-video/vlc-1.2.0_pre1 provided me with the convert/save menu option as well.
Thank You.. |
