My system is system is windows 7 and i use wubi to install an ubuntu10.10 , now i want to install the gentoo,how can i install it without destroy the other two systems.
And i want to make a liveusb to install the gentoo, but when i following this book " http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/liveusb.xml " , i have meat the problems at the beginning with this command : fdisk -l /dev/sdc , and the error mesage is :

Disk /dev/sdb: 1031 MB, 1031798784 bytes
32 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1015 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1984 * 512 = 1015808 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x6f20736b

This doesn't look like a partition table
Probably you selected the wrong device.

You can create a bootable USB stick from within Windows, see http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manual-en_How_to_install_SystemRescueCd_on_an_USB-stick

SystemRescueCd has better hardware support, too.

you need nothing to install gentoo as you have ubuntu install, except if that "wubi" thing installation is another weirdness.

Using existing Ubuntu will not prevent you from building your own kernel. IMO your first task should be freeing up some HDD space for Gentoo. I'm not familiar with Windows 7 and it's quirks. I hear one can resize Windows partition from Windows, maybe you should to that.

You can either use the Gentoo LiveDVD which supports booting from a usb device or search for 'hybrid iso' here in the forums for my guide on how to convert the minimal installcds to be hybrid images that can boot from usb devices.
