|
|
Hey, I just finished installing Gentoo for the first time. I did a Stage 1 install and built the kernel myself from source rather than using genkernel. And, as would seem necessary (sic), upon rebooting I was notified that I forgot to include support for devfs in the kernel I built. My question is: can I just rebuild the kernel in the same way I built it the first time (although making sure I add support for all necessary stuff), can I do that with a little bit of cleanup work first, or do I need to start the entire install process over (ouch!)? _________________ peace and (trance) out

You'll be fine. Just rebuild it, install it into /boot and reboot. |
