Help with gameport on alsa soundcards! PLEASE!!

Hey guys, I've managed to get every device I have to wrok under linux someway or another, except my MS Sidewindwer Gamepad (original gameport version).

I only have an alsa soundcard (fm801) and no matter what i cram into my kernel (anything to do with joysticks

) it wont work. I've read the docs in the source, i've been to alsa's site to try and find something. But no cigar.

If anybody has had ANY success with getting their gamepad working with an alsa driver please reply here!!

Same here, only I have a yamaha pci soundcard. It works okay if I compile into the kernel, but zsnes doesn't pick up on it -- nor do a few other programs -- so I'm forced to use alsa, and now I can't figure out for the life of me how to configure my gameport Sidewinder gamepad. Help!
