I got a "crc error" at the very beginning of the Gentoo install ...
What's this ??? 
my pc : Duron 800, 320 Mo SDRam, 40 Go, radeon 7500, Audigy player, etc.

| well, perhaps the iso is bad...did you check the md5sum ? |

The two most likely causes is either that the ISO was corruped while downloading or was burned improperly. I would check the md5sum and/or burn again at a lower speed.
