[ebuild R ] mail-client/thunderbird-8.0-r1 USE="alsa crashreporter crypt custom-optimization dbus ipc lightning startup-notification webm -bindist -custom-cflags -debug -gconf -libnotify -mozdom -system-sqlite -wifi" LINGUAS="en -ar -be -bg -bn -bn_BD -br -ca -cs -da -de -el -en_GB -en_US -es -es_AR -es_ES -et -eu -fi -fr -fy -fy_NL -ga -ga_IE -gd -gl -he -hu -id -is -it -ja -ko -lt -nb -nb_NO -nl -nn -nn_NO -pa -pa_IN -pl -pt -pt_BR -pt_PT -rm -ro -ru -si -sk -sl -sq -sv -sv_SE -ta -ta_LK -tr -uk -vi -zh -zh_CN -zh_TW" 0 kB

Has to be emerged separately :)
Code:
emerge -pv enigmail

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  N     ] x11-plugins/enigmail-1.1.2-r2  USE="alsa dbus libnotify -custom-cflags -custom-optimization -debug -gnome -startup-notification -system-sqlite -wifi" 0 kB

EDIT: VoidMage has it better; mine idea was reaaallly rusty. And USE flag crypt is on by default.

This version in portage is outdated. thunderbird packages enigmail itself, again.
Probably you have to enable it in the addons-dialog?
