Hi all!
i have just installed Gentoo Linux, and something seems wierd couse my screen is double the size from side to side, so im just avaivable to see the first half of it and when i open some folders they opens in the second half of the screen so i can't see what's in it! Your desktop has always the highest resolution you put in your XF86Config (this is called virtual desktop) even if the "real" resolution is lower.
You can change resolutions with Ctrl-Alt-+ and Ctrl-Alt--. If you want Xfree start with the highest resolution change these sections (for each depth) in your /etc/X11/XF86Config
