emerged ssh and got: no route to host

I've just emerge a new version of openssh (3.7.1_p2) and now I just can't seem to get an outside connection. My firewall rules remained the same.
I just keep getting: port 22: adress no route to host
Would someone tell me what went wrong?

When you get a "no route to host" error message, your routng table is not correct. Type "netstat -rn" to see it. Is there a default route (destination 0.0.0.0)?
