ok, so i've finally managed to get a decent result from ck-list-sessions. got the current session as active and local ( involved rewriting .xinitrc, and chanding a conf file in pam.d ).
now, i'm yet to get consolekit to appear in dbus, because apparently that's what i need to restart/poweroff as a user, programatically (if not, please say so, since i'm SO confused with hal going out the windows, that i don't know much, anymore)
my qdbus does not show anything useful, currently:
Code: |
rhiakath@gentoo ~ $ qdbus
:1.0
:1.1
im.pidgin.purple.PurpleService
:1.2
org.pulseaudio.Server
:1.28
:1.6
org.gnome.GConf
:1.8
org.freedesktop.DBus
|
so, no consolekit there. i've noticed that there are quite a bunch of files in a certain dbus directory which look useful.
Code: |
rhiakath@gentoo ~ $ ls /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/
org.freedesktop.consolekit.policy org.freedesktop.policykit.policy org.freedesktop.udisks.policy org.freedesktop.upower.policy org.freedesktop.upower.qos.policy org.gnome.gconf.defaults.policy
|
policykit, consolekit, udisks, upower, none of those appear in qdbus. So i guess i must be missing something...
is there something i need to do? _________________ pc-rhiakath ~ $ emerge -s happiness

So, i got the answer.
Consolekit is on system debus, not on session dbus.
so the correct call would be qdbus --system _________________ pc-rhiakath ~ $ emerge -s happiness
