I've seen a lot of people are having this problem. At first I thought it was just firebird specific but I guess it's not. I have no problems with my nic, no lost packets or anything similar but the dns resolution is terrible. It takes couple of minutes to get on this site alone. The nameservers in resolv.conf are fine, and get fast response when I ping them. I have even compiled a new kernel (vanilla 22) just to see if anything changes. I've got no problems on XP (same machine). Everything leads to the ambiguous update world from a week ago as a lot of other people have pointed out.
So.. it's not the nameservers, it's not the nic, it's not the kernel, it's not firebird alone... the connection itself it's not slow but it takes a lot of time to "start-up"...
Does anyone has a solution for this? |
