Hi there!

I use fglrx as the OpenGL implementation. Do I still have to have mesa on my system? If I don't how can I remove it while x11-base/xorg-server is depending on it? I haven't found any use flag X server listening to that informs it to use fglrx insted of mesa as dependency.

Thanks in advance.

I just had a quick look at the ebuilds.
almost anything that requires opengl depends on virtual/opengl, which again depends on either media-libs/mesa or media-libs/opengl-apple.

so unless you have a apple, you are stuck with mesa if you want to use opengl.
