Cryptsetup password entry

Is there some way I can display a password entry screen (like in Ubuntu, where they use Plymouth) on the fbcondecor splash?
I don't want to use plymouth because the wiki says it is not supported. Nor are there any instructions on how to merge plymouth, and my current initrd.
