After booting my system this morning I have no sound in KDE at all, If I use VLC and tell it to go out through SPDIF, which the speakers are connected to, and I tell it to use ALSA I hear sound. If I tell MPlayer to go out through SPDIF I hear nothing, I have double checked that all the channels are unmuted using alsamixer and kmix, i have recompiled my kernel just in case, and I have recompiled phonon and alsa-utils.
So I am at a bbit of a loss to be honest. Not quite sure what to post here so any information you need feel free to ask for and i will post it asap
SOLVED - dont know if it was because i removed the sound card from bios, booted PC, whereby alsa complained there was no card and removed levels, and then re-enabling card in bios and booting PC, or if i put plug and play OS installed, but sound is back now _________________ I know 43 ways to kill with a SKITTLE, so taste my rainbow bitch. |
