Since some time i had the talkplugin installed manually via binaries supplied by google. But yesterday i saw that there are some ebuilds.
I tried it and is seems that the plugin "hangs" somehow. I see in the processlist:
Code: |
alexandh 17706 0.1 0.1 374668 32344 ? Sl 12:50 0:00 /opt/firefox/plugin-container /opt/google/talkplugin/libnpgoogletalk64.so -greomni /opt/firefox/omni.jar 17554 true plugin
alexandh 18006 2.4 0.2 486432 40316 ? Sl 12:52 0:00 /opt/google/talkplugin/GoogleTalkPlugin
|
But if i try to open the settings in Gmail or try to start a hangout i see no response from the plugin.. no settings no recognized soundcard, video..
Any ideas? |

I had a similar problem - versions higher than 2.3.2 fail, but 2.3.2.0, available in portage, works fine. Try downgrading and see if it works.

Thanks for the answer.
I finally solved it by installing version 9999 which is the current version 2.6.1.0.
That version is fully 64bit an google says it solves problems with 64bit. |
