Hi,
i wonder if there's a way to take a video file and export a frame to an image format. I know i could probably do a screen capture, but is there a direct way to do it?
thank you,
keifir. |

xine saves a shot when you press the key "t".
avidemux2 has a save image entry in the menu. It also offers a slider to search the desired frame and to step framewise through the video. For me it's a bit picky with the files to import, but if it reads it, it's a fine simple video editor.
If I remember right, transcode also has an output module wich saves frame by frame to jpg, but no graphical user interface, so that's more for converting whole scenes batchwise to post-process them.
I never tried it but the gimp also has some limited mpeg1 video to frame export capabilties.
