Since upgrading my kernel to 3.2.1-gentoo-r2 (x86_64) I am no longer able to scroll using the mouse wheel. Everything else is still working on both the touchpad as well as the USB mouse, just not scrolling up and down. I tried using the scroll wheel in both gdm (CTRL+ALT+F1) as well as X11 and it didn't work in either environment.
I already tried using xev which only reproduced the issue. Everything worked correctly except the scroll wheel.
Similarly "cat /dev/input/mouse0" did not produce any output when I scrolled the wheel.
This all leads me to believe that support for something was dropped in this kernel. Any suggestions on what else I could try ?
Thanks |

Did you do an upgrading the kernel only?
I'll tell my history you. If I compile the x11-base/xorg-server with "udev" USE flag then I can scroll pages in Firefox by both wheels of my mouse. If without "udev" then I can scroll pages by single wheel only.
Was your xorg server compiled within "udev" USE flag? |
