Here's how events transpired:
I softlinked a new timezone file to /etc/localtime -- now my system's `date` output switched from UTC to the right timezone: CDT.
Then I changed the time to be correct. The `date` command now outputs the correct date/time and timezone.
However, Gnome's taskbar clock shows the UTC time and even if I go into preferences and toggle the "UTC" option, it doesn't change.
If it matters, my clock setting in /etc/rc.conf is set to "local".
How can I fix Gnome's clock? |
