|
|
I'm getting this when I try to emerge the latest mm-sources kernel:
Code: |
Knoppix src # emerge mm-sources
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) sys-kernel/mm-sources-2.6.0_beta5-r4 to /
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) linux-2.6.0-test5.tar.bz2
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) 2.6.0-test5-mm4.bz2
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking linux-2.6.0-test5.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/mm-sources-2.6.0_beta5-r4/work
* Applying 2.6.0-test5-mm4.bz2... [ ok ]
patching file arch/alpha/boot/misc.c
Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume -R? [n]
|
It's asking me about patches, should I be getting this??
Just for the record I'm trying to emerge sys-kernel/mm-sources-2.6.0_beta5-r4. |

No, emerge should patch things cleanly.
I run test5-mm4 but downloaded and applied the mm4 patch myself, if you choose to go this route, there's another patch required to boot with devfs. Details in comment section of kerneltrap http://kerneltrap.org/node/view/885#comment |

I suppose a bugzilla report wouldn't be out of order, or did someone already post a bug report? This is seriosuly annoying now. |
