Evening all!

Even though beside my nick it says guru, treat me like a newbie please. I left Gentoo about 3 - 4 years ago and I can't remember a darn thing! My question is, is that I do not have an option in terminal to make it clear. No idea what I had to install, and to be quite honest I don't remember installing anything to get it going. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Not sure if you meant by "clear".
You can use the command "clear" to remove all the crap in that terminal.

If you mean transparent background, this depends on the terminal emulator you're using. For Gnome-terminal(VTE) you can Edit/Profile Preferences/Background and select transparent background to see through to your root window artwork.

I'm using KDE and I figured it out. As usual, I'm making things harder than they need to be.

mrxvt,
aterm,
& eterm all do transparency as well, though some are trickier than others to configure.
