Hello there, I have a problem:
The keyboard on my Compaq 907EA Laptop is really slow. The response is good, absolutely no problem with normal typing. It's just that when I press and hold a button, the time between every letter appearing on the screen is deadly long. It's like the computer reads the keyboard buffer way to seldom.
Any ideas? _________________ Physics is like sex: sure, it may give some practical results, but that's not why we do it.

This is usually called 'typematic repeat' and can be configured in your BIOS (reduce the delay). I suspect that Linux can override it somehow too, but I wouldn't know how to do that. Perhaps the Console HOWTO might help? |

Aaaah thanks a lot.
Actually it was as simple. For others interrested; just use 'kbdrate' ! _________________ Physics is like sex: sure, it may give some practical results, but that's not why we do it.
