I have a EMACHINE 5305 Laptop with the IGP 320M chipset and so far I have had a lot of luck getting everything to work. Know, my big challenge is to get
Xfree to work with 3d support. I have read that using the 2.6 series kernel you can enable dri support with Xfree 4.3.99 (or whatever the latest test build is) but I am running with the 2.4.22 ac4 kernel and I am very happy with because everything works (Powernow, ACPI, pcmcia-cs etc etc) and I really don't wanna reinvent the wheel so my quesiton is do the new ATI drivers support the IGP 320M? Or, if not is there a way to enable DRI under the 2.4 series kernel with the latest xfree??? Thanks for the help in advance!

I'v read evry thing that i can find on google and the gentoo forum. some say it cant be done at this time to enable hardware acc while other says they have done it and is playing warcraft 3 with better framerate then under windows with omegadrivers and so on...

Some one plz enlighten us :)

Which kernel verison are you using? I am using 2.4.22 ac4 with agpgart as a module and using Xfree 4.3.0 r3. So far i have been able to get the radeon driver to load with the IGP 320M so i have made a little progress..

check it out there https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=47858

i'm now using kernel 2.6test6 and Xfree 4.3.99.13 , but so far, no improvement but a slightly more stable driver maybe.
I reach 500fps when run glxgears, which is not enough for playing neverwinter night.

No, it's not enough. But then, the IGP's are so underpowered anyways - they're basically very crippled R200's without T&L. I bought my laptop with an IGP card knowing full well that it wouldn't be much good for 3D gaming.

Hello!

The touchpad is an Alps Technologies touchpad. After what I have read on LKM the driver for the scroll buttons are still in development:
