I just installed Gentoo on a v880, and it is amazing. But the fans are stuck wide-open. With Solaris 10 the fans were controlled. I don't have a Sun contract, so I can't download the latest OBP that has the fan control support. But I have found support for hardware monitoring in the kernel, will this give me control over the fan speed? Can I use something like lm_sensors on x86? What options do I have here? I can't have this server running at work when no-one can talk over it!
I have searched and searched the whole internet for days. Nothing.
And what is bbc_i2c? Does it even work?
I really need Gentoo on this thing, Solaris doesn't give me what I need, plus Gentoo performs so much better than anything else I've tried. _________________ Was it cat-5 or cat-6? Well I dunno, but I do know that I need a new LCD screen on my laptop now. |
