I'm currently using alsa for sound and am also using genkernel to configure my kernel. The problem is that when gentoo loads up it says I have to unmute my card. Running amixer fixes the problem but I don't want to have to do this every time. I read that the problem was due to conflicting audio support in the kernel(alsa & whatever genkernel uses). How do I fix this? |

I found that running
after unmuting stores the settings for me. |
