Hi,
new to Gentoo, with the nelp of some kind guys here I could manage to install xorg-server and gnome.
At the moment I am dealing with keyboard problems.
Ordinarily I use a Type Matrix Bépo keyboard. I had no pb with other distros like Ubuntu, Mint, OpenSuse.
To use the keyboard on Gentoo I choose System --> Preferences --> keyboard then the layout tab and I add French French (Bépo, ergonomic, Dvorak way) and choose Model TypeMatrix EZ-Reach 2030 USB... I removed other layout.
The show button displays the right layout but when I type in the "type to test settings" edit box the character remains those of the "azerty" layout.
If I close the diaog and try to use an application the layout seems also to be "azerty"
I had a look at the French (Bepo, ergonomic, Dvorak way) section of the fr file in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols it seems to be ok. See below please.

Where/what the pb could come from ?
