I'm currently running kde and konqueror 4.8.1.
Several pages I visit don't work fully in konqueror. I have java and javascript enabled globally. As an example, what would stop on my system the departure and return date fields on this airline booking page from displaying the calenders? http://www.airnewzealand.co.nz Is it likely to be a settings issue within konquereor or do I need to emerge additional packages? I'm lost. Pointers appreciated. |

Well, javascript is not the best part of konqueror. In any case, there's a reason why kde distros don't use konqueror as their default browser...
If you want this fixed and can't do it yourself, I advice you to go into the kde bugzilla and report the bug just like you did in here. Whether it will get fixed (and when) depends on the availability and other priorities of the developers. Some bugs sit there for years, some others are fixed in hours or days. |

Yep Konqueror is a strange beast at times
If you have the kwebkitpart installed, try right clicking the page, select "Preview in" and click webkit. It often works when khtml doesn't, but unfortunately has its own pages that prove difficult to render correctly. You can adjust the default via
Settings > Configure Konqueror > General > Default web browser engine |

Thanks i92guboj baaann. You've confirmed what I suspected. I have emerged Firefox 11.0 and the pages that were troublesome in konqueror are fine in firefox. I'll keep checking back on konqueror as I emerge later versions of kde and see if it improves.
Thanks for the replies. |

Can you show us the corresponding bug report on bugs.kde.org? Can't seem to find it. |

Good point
Anyway, it looks like progress is being made

I personally use Konqueror for approx 90% of web pages and find the benefits of its integration outweigh the inconvenience of those pages that do not load correctly |

I use Konqueror quite often too, and it has sometimes been a big help. Just last month I used Konqueror to book a concert ticket online because Firefox would not display the theatre's seat map correctly. And, also last month, I could not access a Web page on the office Intranet via Firefox but had no problem using Konqueror. _________________ Clevo W230SS: amd64, VIDEO_CARDS="intel modesetting nvidia".
