|
|
Hi all,
first, sorry for my poor english. :)
I'm using Gentoo. It's a cool distribution.
Now to my problem.
My hardware access point is dead from yesterday :(.
Now I would like to make my pc to an AP.
I have a Netgear MA311 wireless adapter and use it with linux-wlan-ng.
I use a 3com card to get connection to internet (ADSL) and wanna share this ADSL-Connection with a few wireless clients.
Has anybody a small howto? Can anybody help me?
Thanks and Best wishes, |

Hi!
AFAIK you need to have a Prism-based card to get it into AP-mode. I'm not exactly sure about the Netgear card.
And you need to install hostap (ebuild avail, but masked).
On the website for hostap you can find some howtos.

there you go a instant wireless accesspoint program. Don't know about your card supported and stuff, have fun _________________ Workstation: Shuttle SN85G4v2, AMD64 3200+, 512MB, 250GB sata, Radeon 9800 Pro.
