Turned on computer picked os in grub and logged into root for installation. This is what I get after logging in the root.
Code: | Unable to change owner or mode of tty stdin: Read-only file system (none) ~ # |

Hi,
It looks like the root file system is damaged in some way and so the kernel re-mounted it read-only to prevent further data corruption. The next step would be to repair it using the appropriate tool for the type of file system. If you followed the Handbook's default choice of file system, that would be e2fsck for ext2, ext3, or ext4. You may need to boot to a LiveCD in order to repair a mounted root file system, as you probably won't be able to unmount it to try repairing it. |

Hello,
I have similar problem now
Code: | Unable to change owner or mode of tty stdin: Read-only file system (none) ~ # |
my etc/fstab
Code: | /dev/sda1 /boot reiserfs notail, noatime 1 2
/dev/sda2 / reiserfs noatime 0 1
/dev/sda3 none swap sw 0 0 |
I installed 2 times base system and without problems. But I had some problems with GCC and need reinstall again. And after install and reboot got read only file system.
It is little marathon to install gentoo on new hardware . Can be a problem in SSD? |
