Is it just the mirrors that do not work? If so it could be a problem on the gentoo servers.
How do you try to "download" the mirrors? I'm not quite sure what you mean. _________________ Kali Ma

GentooNoob91,
First emerge app-portage/mirrorselect
This is how I update mine Code: | mirrorselect -s6 -b10 -D -o > mirrors | then copy the contents of mirrors to make.conf
You can get more info here
Good luck |

mirrorselect -i -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf
that is the command i am using to try and move on but it keeps throwing back a check internet connection command. and iv tried using net-setup eth0 but the internet will not just connect it worked fine before. |

GentooNoob91,
Did you loose your /etc/resolv.conf? Check it for nameserver entries |

you can skip running mirrorselect -i -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf; it is a legacy step.
check your connection with
if that works check the nameserver with Code: | ping -c 2 google.com |
