Hello,
I have just installed a gui and was wondering how to install firefox 11. I was searching the internet to find a way to do it and can not. I went to the firefox home page and got the .bz2 which I was able to unzip. But from here I am at a loss for what to do.
Any and all help is appreciated
Thank you,

Erm, ?
FF11 isn't declared stable, yet, so either you unmask it yourself - it's currently in ~arch - or you wait a little.
Why would you want to install it directly from upstream, when it's not in portage for a reason? It's not that devs are just too lazy for such a major package... _________________ ++++++++++[>+++++++>++++++++++>+++>+<<<<-]>++.>+.+++++++..+++.>++.<<+++++++++++++++.>.+++.------.--------.>+.>. |

Ahhh I forgot that was why they didn't have it in Portage!
Sorry, I had gotten away from Gentoo for a month or two (with school taking over) and recently got back into it, and I was afraid I was going to lose some of the knowledge I had already built up.
Thank you for your help
I hope to quickly pickup what I have lost in my Gentoo knowledge! |
