Greetings;

I have some files that I accidentally ripped to wma and want to convert; so instead of re-ripping them I thought I'd try dir2ogg.

I emerged it without any problems, but it doesn't seem to want to work. Whenever I run the script, I get the following:

Code:

sam@xerces ~/music-tbs $ dir2ogg
  File "/usr/bin/dir2ogg", line 135
    print 'Information: %s' % msg
                          ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
sam@xerces ~/music-tbs $

I looked into the script and tried playing around a little there (I have (very) little experience with scripting, so thought I'd have a poke around) but I couldn't modify or comment-out the apparently offensive line without further issues.

I emerged the package as the following:
Code:

sam@xerces ~/music-tbs $ emerge -pv dir2ogg

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

My emerge --info is as follows:
Code:

sam@xerces ~/music-tbs $ emerge --info

Seems like your /usr/bin/python is linked to python3xyz. Calling the script with python3 fails the same way for me as for you, but using python2 works.

From a quick look, the script isn't python3 ready, f.e. missing () after print-statements.

Just run it with python2 and file a bug on the tracker.
