Hey guys!
As others on this board, I have been unable to get the keyboard on my notebook to work properly with Gentoo. The keyboard works just fine during installation. But when I boot from the newly installed kernel, the keyboard stops working somewhere after GRUB.
The keyboard does work if I repeatadly press a key during boot (I press enter a lot), but that is unacceptable to me.
Here's what I tried:
- Compiled kernel (gentoo-sources) with input core support
- Compiled kernel (gentoo-sources) without input core support
- Compiled kernel (gentoo-sources) with input core support as modules
- Compiled kernel (gentoo-sources) with input core support with only mouse as a module
- Set the input devices to "both" from "auto" in the BIOS (suggestion found on this board)
- Auto loading the usb-ohci module
- SSH into the running box and insmod related USB/HID/INPUT modules
Nothing works... (asides from hitting enter a bunch of times). dmesg doesn't show any suspicous erros at all.
Currently the notebook is runnin SuSE and it works just fine...
Any ideas?
Thanks,
André |
