I have recurring, huge problems with KDE4/KMail2/Akonadi and possibly DBus.

On many occasions after logging into a KDE Session I cannot launch KMail2 and Dolphin. Or it takes around 10 minutes or the application to show.

It may have to do with DBus. Investigating AkonadiTray -> Configure -> Akonadi Server Configuration -> Test -> "Previous Akonandi Server Errro Log Found", I find :

Code:
"D-Bus session bus went down - quitting"

I.e. Akonadisupport has stopped and KMAil2 and poosibly other applications do not respond

I also get:

Code:
# akonadictl status
D-Bus session bus is not available!
"[
0: akonadictl(_Z11akBacktracev+0x35) [0x8060485]
1: akonadictl() [0x8060884]
2: [0xffffe400]
3: [0xffffe424]
4: /lib/libc.so.6(gsignal+0x51) [0xb7153db1]
5: /lib/libc.so.6(abort+0x17c) [0xb715558c]
6: /usr/lib/qt4/libQtCore.so.4(_Z17qt_message_output9QtMsgTypePKc+0x8c) [0xb75008dc]
7: [0xbf8a1668]
]
"

EDIT: The akonadictl seems to be user dependent. If I ask for the status as user I get:

$ akonadictl status
Akonadi Control: running
Akonadi Server: running
Akonadi Server Search Support: not available

But I do have:

Code:
# /etc/init.d/dbus status
 * status: started

I have seen this in several occasions, without digging deeper into root casue. Has anyone else more info about DBus not available?
